Topics we are interested in
- Address data quality: standardisation, deduplication, keeping ZIP codes intact in spreadsheets and databases.
- Mailing and shipping in practice: presort, ZIP+4, carrier routes, PO Boxes, military and international mail.
- Geography and statistics: ZCTAs, crosswalks, census tracts, metro areas and mapping ZIP-level data.
- Developer topics: validating postal codes, address APIs, caching and privacy-friendly lookups.
- Postal systems in other countries, written by people who use them.
Browse the existing postal guides first; we do not publish articles that repeat one we already have.
Quality and originality standards
- Original and unpublished. The article must be your own work and not published elsewhere, including on your own site. Copied, spun or AI-generated text submitted without substantial original expertise will be rejected.
- Sourced. Factual claims link to a primary source (USPS, Census Bureau, HUD, a national postal operator or official documentation).
- Accurate and honest. No misleading claims, invented statistics or promises a reader cannot verify. Examples and formulas must be tested.
- Useful on its own. Typically 800 to 1,800 words, in plain English, with a clear answer early on.
- Your experience. Tell us briefly why you know this topic; real-world experience matters more than titles.
Editorial review
Every submission is reviewed against the standards above and our editorial principles. We check facts and sources, may edit for clarity, length, accuracy and style, and may ask you to revise. We decide the final title, URL, internal links and publication date. Accepted guides are credited to the author by name unless you ask otherwise.
What we do not accept
- Spam, link-building pitches, or articles written mainly to place links.
- Requests for guaranteed followed links. We do not promise any link attributes.
- Content about gambling, adult topics, personal data brokering or anything unrelated to postal and address data.
- Pieces that promote a product without disclosing your connection to it.
Disclosure for commercial submissions
If you work for, own or are paid by a company whose product or service your article mentions, you must say so in your pitch. Where we publish such an article, the relationship is disclosed on the page. Product mentions must be relevant, balanced and not the purpose of the piece, and we may remove or neutralise them.
How to submit
- Open the contact form and choose the subject “Write for us pitch.”
- Send a short pitch rather than a full article: a proposed title, three to five bullet points on what the reader will learn, the sources you will use, a line about your experience, and any commercial relationship.
- If the idea fits, we will reply with next steps. Because we receive more pitches than we can publish, we may not reply to every one.
Submitting a pitch does not create any obligation to publish, and publication is not guaranteed at any stage.
Reminder: we do not accept free guest post submissions — only paid guest posts are published.
