Google Maps and ZIP code searches

Google Maps is how many people check “what is my ZIP code.” The map shows ZIP codes as part of addresses and can outline a ZIP area when you search for one. ZIPCodeLookup.io is independent and not affiliated with Google.

Find your ZIP code on Google Maps

  1. Open Google Maps and allow it to show your location, or search your street address.
  2. Tap your location or the searched place to open its details.
  3. Read the address in the details panel: the five digits after the state abbreviation are the ZIP code.

Prefer one tap? Our What is my ZIP code? tool shows the nearest ZIP codes to your location directly.

See a ZIP code area on the map

Type a five-digit ZIP into the Google Maps search box. For most codes the map zooms to the area and draws an outline. The outline is an approximation: USPS defines ZIP codes as delivery routes and does not publish boundaries, so map providers estimate them.

Reference points instead of outlines

Every ZIP page here shows the code's reference point with a link to OpenStreetMap and lists nearby ZIP codes with straight-line distances. The U.S. ZIP code map shows every reference point at once, and each state page has its own map.
